Question Governor Rebound Slide internal pin

During the replacement of the rebound spring I found a steel pin inside the spring .059 DIA and .698 long. Its not called out the schematic diagram nor the parts list. I sent an e-mail to S&W no answer as of this post. I suspect that it may there for spring damping or act slide return stop. Has anyone experience finding a non listed part in their Governor?

That's a normal part. Rebound slide pin, #070320000, is in virtually every medium & large frame revolver I see in the S&W parts catalog. (I can't say this is the PN# for the Governor though.)

I believe it's there to limit overall travel too.
