Default Positive Click Cylinder Stop

SW Revolver Cylinder Stop Spring / Engagement

Follow up to the attached post….

I installed a Wolff Xtra strength cylinder stop spring. It required a little trimming to install (maybe a coil +) and the results are like night and day.

I did clean the heavy lube and before it was a very faint click when the stop notch engaged (prior to hammer fall)

Now, very positive and felt click.

While I like the change and I will finish my comp season (3 shoots left) with this set up, I want to make sure the heavy spring will have no ill effect on the stop notch wear, etc?

opinions/experience welcomed

TIA

Won't hurt anything, won't help anything with light loads. Will slightly hurt your DA trigger pull and reset. There is an OE S&W heavy stop spring they use in the 44 mags.

Just make SURE your Cylinder Stop does NOT have any burrs. If it does, the turn line will deepen with a stronger spring. DO NOT remove metal from the Cyl. Stop , JUST the burrs with an extra fine Arkansas Stone ONLY IF THERE ARE ANY. If not, ........ GTG.
