Default Hand spring replacement video?

As I reported long ago, shortly after I bought my 642-2, I lost the hand spring.

It took months to get one from S&W but I finally got it and I had the time tonight to tackle the project.

Now the problem.

Way back-when I found a video on youtube on installing a hand spring. I thought that I had bookmarked it but it looks like I didn't.

So, does anyone have a link to a good video OR some good tips on installing this pesky spring?

Thanks.

When installing the Hand spring, first put the Hand in place, then partially pull the Hand out of the Trigger just enough so it stays in place but allows you to tension the Hand Spring past it with a screwdriver or similar tool, then push Hand back over the Spring leg while holding it down. The hand's pin will then hold the spring leg in place.

It's pretty easy to do but harder to describe in writing. I have not seen any Youtube videos - sorry.

Got 'er done.

Midway through the project, I remembered what the guy in that video had done. He had used a bit of shoelace to hold the spring in place whilst he tried to get the let under the arm on the hand (lots of body parts). I used a twist tie which took up less room. Not that hard once I got into it.

However, I did launch the rebound spring across my office. I found it behind a bookcase.

That's what I like, determination! Glad you got it all sorted.

I launched my hand spring multiple times but amazingly found it each time.

Those sound like good tips. Hope I can remember them next time.
