Default Light strikes

I have a new 327 that I've shot maybe 100 rounds through. About 4 or 5 times I have had light primer strikes. These rounds were reloads and factory, giving them a second strike fired them all. I checked the main spring and it's tensioned as far as the screw will go. What else should I look at to fix this? Or will it go away with some break-in?

thanks,

Theodoric

If they were reloads it's likely the primers weren't fully seated. The first strike took care of it and the second fired them

OK.
1. change ammo
2. buy a new maim spring
3. buy a new strain screw
4. clean the the FP channel in the frame.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for replies. What is involved in cleaning the firing pin channel?

Briefly: Remove the grips, remove the side plate, remove the firing pin retaining pin, then remove the firing pin & spring. Clean with a Q-tip.

Some guns have had firing pins a little too short & need a replacement. My 627-5 is .497" long. My 25-13 is .493". Both work fine but the Apex XP Firing Pin Kit's pin (that I bought but haven't needed yet) measures .500".

Exactly which 327 do you have?

Thanks Bluedot. I have the 2" snub, I guess it is called the 327 Carry.

Rig you up some kind of a small spacer between the strain screw and the mainspring that will stay in place.
