rear sights on revolvers
Is there a chart that has the different distance between the screw holes on the rear sight and shows the model numbers?

Are you talking about the screw holes in the rear sight's leaf?

I am talking about the center to center distance between the mounting hole and the elevation hole.

Not that I know of. I did post a chart of the different rear sight blade heights recently, but I know of no chart giving specs on mounting holes for different models.

I think there were 3 changes over the years. Pre War, Post War, Mid 80's, and the current sights with the rounded end. I don't know what years the changes were made. If you post what year your revolver was from, I'm sure several will be able to measure comparable guns for you.

I have a lot of rear sights and would like to know the models they are for. These are all with the square end. I have 4 different sizes, measured from the center of the mounting hole to the center of the elevation hole they are: 1.76, 1.84, 1.875 and 1.97.
From the guns I have (not pre or post war) they are:
N FRAMES: M29/M629 – 1.97
K FRAMES: M14/M66 – 1.84
What are the other 2 for?
The latest models all have rounded ends and I think they are all the same distance.

K FRAMES: M14/M66 – 1.84
Just guessing that 1.76 is the J frame
and the 1.875 is the L frame.
Does that make sense? Can anyone confirm?
