Wolff Full Power Mainspring
I hope this is posted in the right forum. Mods feel free to move. I purchased a full power mainspring for my 19-6 about 3 years ago. Works fine double action. When cocked single action, there is a noticeable "crunch". Rear of rebound slide contacts mainspring. Only other mod is 13 lb rebound spring. Just went back to factory main. Curious, so I called Wolff. They asked when I bought it. Apparently, there was a design flaw and is has been redesigned due to that issue. They are sending me a knew one, free. Nice folks. They said, "no, you should not need a longer strain screw(never shortened). We will send you a new one. Good service. Things happen. Thought I should share.

I have not had problems with Wolff but I have read many posts from people who have. I just use the factory spring and bend it, saves problems.

They were very helpful. Knew exactly what the "problem" was, and I have been notified that a replacement spring has been shipped. Bad batch, is basically what I as told. Honest people. Refreshing.

I bought the mainspring directly from them. They asked for my name and zipcode, first thing. They verified the purchase date, and then simply said, " We will send you a new one. We have redesigned that spring." I suspect that making a leaf spring that will actually fit literally millions of K, L, and N frame revolvers is difficult, at best. Their mainsprings have less "stack" than factory. Not a big deal, but there is a reason S&W Performance Center guns usually have Wolff springs.

Thanks for the information. I have and am using several Wolff spring kits in my firearms. Never had a problem, but good to know. Thanks.

Update.
Received new Type 1 full power mainspring(K,L,N frame) yesterday. Called them Wednesday, 2/10. Shipment notification same day. It is installed and functions exactly like I hoped the first one would. Less "stack" than factory spring. Personal preference. Slight difference in shape from older one. No single action "crunch". Bottom line, very good custumer service from Wolff. Their warranty is real.
