New S&W 1911 PC 5 inch barrel sight problem
I have shoot 100 rounds out of my new gun and the Rear Sight is F up the pin that holds the blade assembly moves to the right side of the gun almost coming all the way out of the sight for a PC 1911 one would think for that Kind of Money this would not happen. I was But I tapped it back it in place and I will bring my gun to a local Smith and see what he has to do to fix this problem if he can. Another problem I had was the Magazine Release Button got stuck and the Magazine would not lock in to place but after I Pushed in back out from the other side it fixed it self and started to work. It could have had a bur on the mag release that worked it's way off the part. It works like it should for now. If the rear sight can be fixed the GUN will go back to S&W to get fixed.

Everything man made can and will fail or have problems. To think otherwise is foolish. To combat this trait, manufacturers offer wonderful things called "warranties". And believe it or not, they work!
EDIT: Upon reflection of my post, I feel it my obligation to state the use of the word "man" was not intended to be sexist in any regard.
Carry on!

I don't look on it unkindly. IMHO, consumers only effective reply to spending $1200 on a defective gun is to post it publicly. SW quality on new guns has been so bad in my area that the 627 I bought a couple of years back is the last new SW I will ever buy. I think the OP's post was pretty civil considering how ticked off most people would be in similar circumstances.

I don't know what brand sight they are using, but the typical Bomar has an internal spring set against a groove in the cross pin to lock that pin in position. A "loose pin" can mean the pin has fractured in the middle and one side is walking out. I have had one break on my .40 1911, but after many rounds. Surprising if one broke so soon on yours.

A lifetime warranty is a poor substitute for the loss of competent workers who used to do the QA. And in my area (California) SW has never extended the "free shipping" courtesy on any gun I had of theirs that needed work which meant I was out $80 to use a common carrier if I wanted to send it back. The fact I began gunsmithing many years back was my general disgust with eating that cost as well as my reluctance to ship a buggered up gun back to the monkeys who mutilated it in the first place...... maybe that's just me, but warranties are no substitute for build quality.
