Default Sear/Striker Engagement

Question about my M&P Shield 9. Is it necessary to check sear/striker engagement after removing and replacing parts? I'm not talking about adding anything aftermarket, just replacing stock parts. The only reason I ask is I know it is something that is done with Glocks, but I haven't found anything about it in the M&P armorers manual.

No, not the same on a Smith. No funny little orange half striker plate needed.
