Gunsmith Training
Does anyone know of a gunsmith school located in NY? I have one year of HS left and am starting to think about what I want to do afterwards. I don't think an online school would be good for me.

Welcome to the forum.
I'm not aware of a nationally recognized one but there may be.
Reportedly, there's a good one in Tishomingo, OK, but I think the one in Colorado is most well known.

If you do decide to enter this profession, I hope that you become one of the best, and perhaps somewhat wealthy. I've heard that it can be financially "challenging", but perhaps you can change that sitiuation.

Gunsmith Training
Try The on line American Gunsmithing Institute. You can do this at home and they have the largest of Master Gunsmith Instructors at your disposal. The course includes all of the material and forms to acquire your FFL and the process of questions and answers you may have in the course. I have completed several of the gunsmithing courses and have helped me in understanding their method of teaching. You will need to understand the design, function and repair that helps you understand and repairing of firearms. They have a student adviser that is assigned to you for the duration of the course. The first course is the professional gunsmithing course and the next phase, if you so desire, is the master gunsmithing course which entails welding, laths and advance gunsmithing. Try their web site for a free lesson and join the Gun Club of America for monthly meetings via skype and substantial gun savings and information on the latest of guns and accessories that are from the Shot Show and other new and innovative products on the market.
