Late model n frame triggers
My search abilities must be weak since i cant find them on the s&w site. I have a 29-10 with a serrated target trigger that's useless for exteneded double action sessions. I'd like to replace it with a narrow smooth trigger.
A) Will the new trigger just drop in or will it reaquire fitting?
B) How much are the new triggers?

Probably the best option for you to obtain exactly what you want is to call S&W Customer Service, and speak to someone in the parts department. (800-331-0852)
I don't think a "narrow", or M&P width smooth trigger is available, but the .312" width one should be. They will ask your model number and serial number when you call in order to confirm compatibility.
And yes, it will most likely need fitting.
How wide is the current trigger?

If the narrow trigger is a "must", then you could purchase the narrow serrated trigger (.265") and have the serrations removed. (polished out)

I've corrected a few of my triggers with a Dremel tool.If you can remove the trigger from the gun,it is quite easy doing it....and on a scale from 1 to 10 between a gunsmith and a clutz,I'm much closer to the latter! If I can do it,anybody can.
