Diy Magazine Sleeve
Hey yall,
I have a 669 and also have a 15 Rd extended magazine. I've shot it over the years without a sleeve but am thinking if done right could have its advantages. I've heard of using a rubber bicycle inner tube but that is going to add width equally around. I was thinking of using duct tape. That way I could build up the front strap more than the sides or back. Then just wrap all sides with a strip to encompass it all.
Comments on my idea? Better ideas? Or just say screw it and leave it as is?

The precision gun set is pretty much a cosmetic copy of the factory original set up. I have never handled one so I can on comment on quality, all mine are original S&W parts. However you can see the one in that other thread looks just like this factory one in my Shorty 357

Yeah, anything but duct tape. If ya gotta do it yourself, I'd say check craft and hardware stores for a moldable plastic or maybe some kind of an epoxy.
I'd probably reach into my scrap box and make something out of leather.

Well heck for 10 bucks it's not worth my time to do my own. I honestly figured Noone was doing anything for the 2nd and 3rd Gen pistols anymore.
Thanks

What am I missing here? Are you asking about something like the old Hogue sleeve that fits over the grip, or magazine base pads.

I've got an early no rail 3913 TSW that takes a 7 round mag and carry a couple of spare 9 rounder's that leave the gap when inserted into the stock, so I know what you're asking.
I thought about the possibilities of a 3d printer to make a sleeve, but my technical knowledge in that area is non existent. If I had a machine shop, I'd try to fabricate a plastic sleeve.
I decided just to leave the 9 round mags alone since it's not a beauty contest. If ever needed they will get the job done.

A sleeve that goes on the magazine to fill in the space between the base pad and the bottom of the handgun. But there are those basepad replacements as shown above so I don't need to make my own now
