Default 629-3 Rear Sight Question...

Just inherited a nice M629-3 (six inch) but it came with a scope on it. Scope is gone but now I need a rear sight assembly. What height blade came on these revolvers and what's a good source for a white outline rear sight assembly? I'll need that little front screw also..... TW

My parts book indicates a blade height of .146".

I would give S&W Customer Service a call first, to see if they have the assembly and screw you need. 800-331-0852

Does S&W even still make the old style rear sight assembly (with square front edge leaf)?

I figured as hard as it is to even get the current style rear sight assembly they didn't? Let us know what they say.

BLUEDOT37, I'm not sure about a regular (non Classic) 629-3, but my 629-3 Classic has the rounded front edge leaf for the back sight. So I'm thinking he would be good with what S&W is presently selling.

For the square ended rear sights, the screw in front is the same one they used for the trigger stop that was in a groove cut into the frame behind the trigger. The newer rounded end sights have a larger, different screw in the front.
