Default Non Reg Magnum.

Okay I have this NRM and the ratchet on the back of the cylinder is *****. Can I use one from a Model 27??

It depends, which is not what you wanted to hear. You really need an ejector star with ratchet pads from a 27(no dash) or a pre-27 because you need the right hand threads so you can use your large head ejector rod.

Fitting will probably be required and you will have to drill the ejector star or the cylinder itself for the locator pins. Their location moved sometime after WWII (don't remember when). You might consider getting a whole cylinder assembly, fitting it and using it when you wish to shoot the revolver.

I was aware of that from the get go. I have a friend, machinist part genius who's help I'm going to seek out. He's been able to help me with other gun related issues. I'm thinking tig welding the pads and reshaping them. We could index them off of a known good extractor that would come from my RM.
