Default Bodyguard Question

I carry an S&W Bodyguard with a thumb safety which I prefer. It's a little difficult to work the safety especially if you have any oil or lotion on your hands. Does anyone know if S&W or an aftermarket company makes a safety that protrudes just a little more. Thanks.

I also carry one with the thumb safety on. I have no trouble drawing and unlocking in one motion. Guess I'm used to it from carrying a 1911 locked an cocked. It just takes practice. I don't know of an aftermarket safety; maybe there is no market for one.

I looked for one for my bodyguard and couldn't find one. I did find, however, it's easier if I work it quite a while to loosen it up. Also, it's meant to be moved with the inside heel of your thumb, by the first joint. I was using the tip of my thumb and it made it VERY difficult. Very manageable with the inside of the thumb and getting just a bit looser with use.

I don't have a bodyguard but since the Shield 9 is similar in size, I'll give a comment anyway.

I've found that the easiest and most effective way to disengage the safety is, to catch it with my thumb just behind the knuckle and sweep it down as I'm drawing it from my holster.

Due to its low profile and location, this method works best for me.

I also have a bodyguard. I cant not really help with the safety search but i will suggest just practice drawing and disengaging the safety. I do it often and it is second nature for me.... But i normally carry with safety off

Are you comfortable enough with the BG308 to be able to disassemble it and remove/modify/replace the safety?
I remember seeing somewhere on the interwebs where someone modified their factory safety buy building it up with epoxy or JB Weld.
OR
Make sure your BG is unloaded; as you are watching TV keep working the safety back and forth... click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack click clack.
It will absolutely drive anyone else in the vicinity insane, but this will break it in and you will get lots of practice flicking the safety off.
