I'd idealy like .385 or .400 width smooth trigger on a late model 29-10. Does S&W still make these widths? Anyone know what is currently being offered by S&W?

Yes, it should be that easy. When I call, they want to know what model gun and serial number I'm calling about. They will then proceed to tell me what type of trigger the gun originally came with, and advise me of whether or not it's in stock. It's seems as though they have difficulty looking things up by part, which was confirmed the last time I ordered a .400" trigger and received a .500" trigger (I guess they felt it was close enough?). I'm hoping someone here knows more than the folks picking up the phone at S&W.

I suppose I could tell them a gun model that shipped with a MIM .400 "combat trigger", but not sure a MIM .400 trigger even exists.

My parts books are literally from the last century.

According to my manual, they used to offer a .265" (M&P serrated), .312", a .400" smooth and a .500" serr trigger for these revolvers. The .500" "target" width trigger is not listed but I know they made one at some point because I have seen them.

Numrich lists some of the current triggers on their web site, but their latest schematic is for the 29-5.

Power Custom also makes a wide, smooth trigger for these models:
