Default Out of time in da only

Sa locks up well before hammer cocks even with some applied pressure to the cylinder. However, cylinder stop never comes up before hammer falls in da. Why would this be? Thanks

The hammer goes back farther in SA. Try DA with empty cases in the chambers.

If you talk to a tech at S&W, he will tell you NOT to touch the cylinder.

Lots of possible causes. Wear from use, or improper modification of the DA trigger cam and/or on the foot of the hammer can also cause the hammer to leave this critical DA interface too early.
Check also for end shake on the yoke or cylinder. A few extra thousandths of forward motion of the cylinder assembly (away from the hand) can sometimes contribute to incomplete carry up.
