Cleaning Patches
Yesterday I ran out of cleaning patches, I was about to cut up a t-shirt when I looked over and saw the used dryer sheets I use for my tumbler. I had a idea. I cut up the dryer sheet to the proper size, it worked, didn't leave lint, held the right amount of solvents. I will say I only did this on a stainless steel revolver. Anybody else ever use these?

Seems to me that they work just as well but may be something rougher on certain finishes. Just dont scrub too hard, Good for you.

IMO Brownells (BULK-1,000 per pkg.) 100% cotton patches are the way to go. They are excellent not too expensive and have excellent absorption qualities. Available in all sizes, shapes and thicknesses.

chief38s advice is best for anyone interested in properly cleaning a bore. Cotton patches are inexpensive and work well. There is no one-size-fits-all. Brownells and others have quite a variety.
I tried the non-cotton commercial patches and found them to be a distant second to cotton.

Cotton, cotton, cotton. Listen to chief38 and rockquarry. I am also a Brownells fan and their patches are trouble free, reasonable and arrive in a timely manner.

a package of "cotton rounds" in the cosmetic section of the dollar store is a good supply of cleaning patches for little cost.....

vytoland, another good suggestion. I usually use Southern Bloomers found on Amazon, At $6.79 they maybe more expensive than those at Brownells but I do like the quality. regards, hardcase60

Got spoiled by the 2-1/2" cotton flannel .45 patches in the Army.
Now I get them from Track of the Wolf.
