. 44 686 Forcing Cone dimension

Hi Guys,
We are making a new barrel for a. 44 and need the large diameter dimension for an 11° forcing cone. For our. 38/.357 barrels we have a gauge as we always cut the cone in a lathe. I did not want to purchase a. 44 gauge for a 'one off' - can anyone help please?

My factory Smith barrels measure around .460 - .462 at the very back of the forcing cone.

The instructions that I got with my 11 degree cutter from Brownells says for .44 cal. barrels do not exceed .455" plus or minus .005".

This is what the Brownell's manual I have says:

When cutting a chamfer, you normally do not want to have the internal diameter of the rear-most portion of the chamfered area to be over .020" larger than the diameter of the bullet of the cartridge that is being used.

So were talking .449" for the .44
