Default 357 rev 13-1 k frame

Would like to know proper sear fitting. I bought @ 13-1. When fired single action,the hammer rides the trigger down. No snap.
Upon inspection I see the sear has been modified. I order a new one but not sure how to properly fit. Any help ? Thanks

Find a gunsmith who has been armory trained on Smith & Wesson revolvers to look over your gun. From what I could gather, you may be looking at a new hammer and trigger to cure your particular problem. The Double Action Sear, if that's indeed what you ordered, is not likely to solve the problem you have described.

Best of luck.

It sounds like the trigger rebound spring is WAY too light. The trigger can't get out of the way of the hammer falling because it hasn't been pulled far enough to the rear. A heavier spring requires more force to release the sear engagement and the trigger will automaticly move farther back allowing the hammer to miss it.
You should also check for "push off" of the hammer as this will cause the same problem. Then you probably will need a new trigger, hammer or both.
Good luck;
Mike

Sometimes a small chamfer at the bottom front of the sear will fix this. However, if not done correctly or overdone, it can lead to other problems.
