Default pro shield barrel swap

I picked up a shield pro 9mm cheep I have 1000 round nose hard cast .bullet's. I reload I've hear you shouldn't shoot lead or hard cast bullet's out of a ported barrel. if I buy a S&W non ported barrel .is it a drop in fit or dos it need to be fitted.
