hassiman,
I would NOT use the Lucas Oil! IMHO it is probably too thick and will attract dust, powder residue and lint. Use either the Remoil as Laketime above mentioned or my personal favorite, Rig #2 Oil. Either one is excellent since you sound like you have no intention to take the Revolver apart. If you are not comfortable and experienced with that - I understand why and agree you shouldn't. The Rig#2 or the Remoil are both very thin lubricants that will flow over the parts and evaporate leaving rust preventative and lubrication behind. You will not have oil oozing out of the gun for weeks and either one will not attract dust and debris.
So where to apply:
ONLY ONE DROP IN EACH AREA AFTER A GOOD CLEANING!!!
1) Cock hammer back with cylinder opened and put a drop on hand.
2) Put a drop on the cylinder stop.
3) put one drop on either side of the hammer and trigger and let oil flow into revolver. Hold gun so oil flows in.
4) With grips removed, place one drop on main spring with gun upside down so oil flows onto pivot point.
5) Remove Yoke side plate screw, remove cylinder and yoke and place one drop on yoke pivot points.
6) put one drop on locking bolt where ejector rod locks in to place.
Work oil into these areas and wipe off excess. Again, do NOT over oil! One small drop! Make sure there os no oil anywhere near chambers - primers do not like oil.
There are other areas I'd suggest however the revolver would have to be completely disassembled and cleaned. If you are not comfortable with this, you are better off doing the above until such time you either become knowledgable or have someone assist you.
