These are close ups of the sear on a one month old M&P Shield 9mm. I noticed a slight curvature shaped wear on the top of the sear face while cleaning the other day, and started to look closely with a loupe. The sear edge is worn more in the center than at the edges.
The pictures are taken with a macro lens so they definitely magnify this, and it really is barely noticeable with your naked eye. The firsts picture is taken with the trigger held back, do the sear is flush with the plastic channel behind, and the other pictures are with sear raised with trigger relaxed. Note in third picture the slight wearing in the center of the sear surface, which I assume is caused by whatever is wearing the edge.
Gun has about 700 rounds total through it, and fires without issues so far.
Any thoughts? Is this just normal, or an indication that something is amiss?
