Default 1911 slide milling for micro red dot

Can anyone direct me a good machine shop that does milling on 1911 slides to install a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro red dot sight. The ones I have contacted seem to only do M&P or Glocks. Thanks

Cant recommend anyone in particular. But, I would identify the "cut" used on your 1911's rear sight, and google for a mount that might fit it without having to modify it.

Can you clarify if it's a S&W 1911 or some other brand?

If S&W, they might do it. Or as suggested, if it has a dovetail you might be able to find a mount that makes use of it.

You might want to check with Leupold directly as I recall something called an "all mounts sight base" that was available from them. Some type of universal pistol mount for their line of DeltaPoint sold by them.

Many of these makers have multiple bases to fit several different "cuts" for rear sights.

L&M comes well recommended in the reading I have done on this subject. I am holding in my hand an example of their work on a Glock RMR install. It is very good work in my opinion.

L&M site says they do 1911's as well. http://www.landmprecisiongunworks.co.../services.html
