59 feeding problems
Hello out there. I am a new member with a frustrating problem. My 52-1 is getting very fussy with feeding. I thought that the mag springs were old, so I got the Wolff heavy springs. They did not help. There is either a failure to feed on the forth or fifth round , or said round stands straight up instead of chambering. Is it possible that the followers are worn out? I have been working on guns for 40 years and have fixed most problems by myself, but this one has me stumped. I have seven original mags and right now two are reliable. Does anyone know the specs on the fingers on the mags, maybe they are out of shape? any help would be greatly appreciated as this is used for bulls eye and these alibis are killing me.

59-1 ?
Do you mean 52-1 ?
With semi autos it's usually the mags that cause the issue.
The magazine lips could be out of shape or the magazine spring needs replacing.

I would look at the mag feed lips. Are the 2 reliable mags feed lips different than the mags giving feeding problems?
I don't have a model 52, but I do have a couple of old High Standard 22s, and improper feed lips are the number one cause of reliability problems.

Make sure the bullets are seated flush with the case mouth. If they stick out of the case any at all, they will be too long and hang up in the magazine.

good advice on checking the case mouth flush. The 52 is very picky on this one.
If bullets are all case mouth flush, I would clean the magazine and check the front feed lips for alignment and spacing
