Default Model 337 Ti Gas Ring

I was cleaning my recently purchased (used) Model 337 Ti and the gas ring freely falls off. Is that standard procedure for the Ti cylinders?

The gas ring is press fit, and should not be moving, let alone falling off. I would contact S&W to have it properly repaired.

Thanks for the info. I'll get my local gunsmith to take care of it.
