7 & 8 shot cylinders
Don't know if this has been asked but I was curious, which cylinder would be stronger the 7 shot L frame cylinder or the 8 shot N frame cylinder?

Probably the 7 shot, as uneven numbers have the locking bolt cut between chambers, where 6 and 8 shot are cut in the thin part of the chamber wall.

Since both are 100% capable of containing the pressures of ALL ammunition that conforms to SAAMI and CIP specifications why should this matter?
Are you planning on exceeding the normal pressure limits of the 357 Magnum cartridge?

Would a 126 JHP with a muzzle velocity of 3000fps exceed SAAMI specs? I plan to use 6 layers of powder, each layer slower burning than the one before it to help hold down pressures.
