Default 442 back to S&W for a look.

I bought this gun new about 2 months ago and have tried probably 10 different handloads and factory ranging from 125gr cast and jacketed to 158gr. cast and jacketed. Even some 175gr cast.
They all shoot 4" to 5" to the left at 20'. The elevation is perfect and the groups aren't to bad but I don't think the windage should be off that bad at 20'.
Anyway I contacted S&W and they're gonna take a look at it.
Any ideas on what they will do to it to make it right?
Or will they just send it back untouched saying it's in they're specs?

First thing to do in a case like this is always to have another experienced shooter shoot it to confirm that the problem is actually the 442.
Mine shoots straight, BTW.

I bought a 642 with a clocked barrel that was that far off. Sent it back on a recall tag and service corrected the barrel, all free of course.

Bought a 442-1 in late 2015 with the same 'accuracy' problem. The barrel on mine was (is) canted to the right, so the gun shoots 2-3 inches left at 10 yards.

It's been back "for a look" twice.....barrel is still canted.

I looked at the barrel pretty good and couldn't find any problems with it, to my eyes. Could you guys see the cant or crooked in the barrel? And what did S&W say about it?
I might not be the best shot in the world but at 20' I'm usually right on target. And I was shooting from a bench. Also I polished up all the right internal parts so it does have a nice trigger pull.
I can almost say that it has a single action pull once I get past the double action pull.

Pretty obvious to me on my gun. Apparently, not too obvious to S&W Customer Service.

So basically they keep telling you everything is within they're specs and theirs nothing they can do? I'm wondering if they even test fire the guns that go in for repairs like this.
I'm thinking the barrel hole in the frame isn't square to the frame.

The first time it went back it was "fixed", according to the person I communicated with in Customer Service.....even though they did nothing.

The second time I sent it back for a finish issue, and I asked them again to fix the canted barrel. On arrival back home, the finish issue was solved. Barrel still canted....no mention of the request to fix the barrel problem on the repair sheet.

Apparently, some cant is acceptable, at least to the manufacturer. Frankly, I don't understand it.

Well I got my gun back and was able to shoot it today and it is right on point of aim.
The letter I got with it said they did a barrel alignment and test fired.
Definitely fixed and I give S&W 2 thumbs up.
