Mystery Barrel - What does it fit?
Found a mystery .357 Sig caliber conversion barrel in my travels that supposedly fits a Smith & Wesson... but I'm not so sure.
There is no brand indicated on it... just the caliber: .357 Sig.
I had hoped when I first saw it that it was for a 3rd Gen S&W... but no such luck.
My best guess is that it's for an M&P Compact .40 (if it's really for an S&W) but certain aspects just don't seem right.
Anybody know for certain what I found?

I think you nailed it.
It does look just like an SW357V barrel.

Congrats. Now you have to buy a firearm to fit it!

I'm just shocked at how fast
jsbethel nailed it!
I wish there were a prize I could give him!
I wonder if it would fit and work in my SD40VE?

Give jsbethel the barrel for a prize. He (she) probably has something it fits!

I don't own it or I would.
And from what I can see, an SW barrel doesn't appear to be interchangeable with an SD barrel... so no prize for me either.
Too bad all mysteries can't be solved as fast as this one.

What is the length of the barrel? It looks similar to one I have for my Sigma 40F. Is it 4"? This 1st generation Sigma.

Yes, I believe it is 4" It's not here so that I can measure it for you but I'm pretty certain about that. Member
jsbethel figured it out first in about 13 seconds!
Then it suddenly all made sense. It's OEM and from an SW357V.
