Default Any guitar playing shooters use their humidpaks for their guns?

For those of us with that other problem, GAS Guitar Acquisition Syndrome. NOTE: you can use that term for guns too!! Reuse your old humidpaks.

Needed to order some new humidpaks for my acoustic. Usually put the old ones in my other guitar cases. But was wondering do any of you take the old ones and put them in your gun cases/safes/socks? Heck does anyone put new humidpaks in their gun storage rotation?

Nope...they're supposed to maintain 45-50% RH. That
makes sense for a wood musical instrument, but not for
preventing corrosion of steel I want the RH lower than
that, for firearm storage.

The cheapest place I've found to buy silica gel beads is
Hobby Lobby. They sell it for dessicating flowers.
Got a five pound sack for cheap, with the
20% off coupon on their website. You can recharge it
in the oven, when the blue beads turn pink. Good stuff.
