Default Need advice on 1911 scope mount

I've installed an Aimtech Model APM-7 on one of my 1911s. This is the type that replaces one of the grip panels and allows you to mount a scope without drilling etc. I'm having problems where I've had to send one scope back in for repair and received a new one to replace it with. I find it difficult to zero in the scopes on this set up and when I had to replace the scope that I had on it previously the scope had lost zero and you couldn't adjust the windage. I'm using Bushnell 30mm Red Dot scopes on it. The first was Model # 73-0131 and the new one is Model # 730135. Has anyone had any experience with these type of mounts? Would the 1911 in 45acp. produce to much torque for these scopes? The scopes are made for pistol, rifle and shotgun use. Any information will be appreciated.
Thanks,

You have received a message from God, and He is asking: "Why would you want to do such a thing to one of My greatest creations?"

I've had the same type of mount on a Hi Power with an Aimpoint for 20 years with zero problems. I've also mounted one on a friend's 1911 also with no problems. Without going into a lot of detail, I had problems with a Bushnell pistol scope that caused me to decide I would never own another Bushnell product.

Default What Tom S said

There are good Bushnell scopes but there are no good Bushnell pistol scopes. Three shots and mine had a rattle, bad image, and mystery shot impact.

I still have a Redfield grip panel scope mount that is not being used. I used a Leupold 2X pistol scope, also still have the scope.

Larry's Gun's sells an UltraDot sight for about $140.00 new in blue or silver. Current Forum ad: Ultra Dot red dot sight and B Square mount, price lowered!

I have a similar scope and a newer model. Both have been trouble free. If you want a better dot sight, get a CMore that attaches to your grip panel mount.
