The Hoppe's #9 solvent and the Hoppe's Elite (low odor) solvent are good . Hoppe's Elite Gun Oil and RemOil are classic oils.
But don't get all hung up on " specialty" products , most are based on common products just gussied up and priced higher.
I've used WD40 as a solvent in a pinch. A great bore cleaner is a homemade product called "Ed's Red Bore Cleaner", 4 common products and the stuff works just as well as any store bought. Do a search of the name...a gallon can be made for under $20.00.
CLP's work well also. What I'm trying to say is just about any product will work, most are good, don't feel like you have to pay $20.00 for a 4 oz. bottle for it to work.
Home made CLP, based on Ed's Red , a 50/50 mix of Dexron ATF and low odor mineral spirits . Want a gun lubricating oil , a 50/50 mix of Dexron ATF and K-1 kerosene .
Some of the store bought products are low or no odor and I use them for that reason...the wife can smell things I can't....but the homemade stuff works just as well.
