Default Model 69 return slide springs

Are the return slide springs on the model 69 the same as those on the models 29 and 629? I just purchased a model 69 and I want to lighten up the trigger pull with Wolff springs that I have on hand that I've used on my 629's.

Also, is it normal for the hammer to be extremely hard to lift off the hammer stud?

thanks for any help!

If you are referring to the rebound springs, they are the same in the models you specified. OEM rebound springs are approx. 17 coils and flat ground at each end.

Tolerances on the hammer stud can be very close, particularly on the newer model guns.

As stated, they're the same. J-K-L-N frames.

My M69 2-3/4" had a 6# SA trigger pull out of the box. I cleaned & polished things up & added one of these 14# springs, with 1/2 a coil cut-off, & it's 3# now.

The hammer was a snug fit on my post too.

Polished my 69 up a little and have a 13 pound in it. I'm curious what the black coating is on the small parts. I know its not but looks like krylon out of a spray can. Powdercoat? I was surprised also to find so many of the internal parts coated. What ever it is my trigger seems to be getting better as I get more rounds through it.

I replaced the factory rebound slide spring with a 11 lb Wolff. I also polished the underside of the rebound slide, and the hammer stud. I am somewhat disappointed that my trigger pull went from burying the needle over 72 ounces, to 56 ounces. I would rather have it 32 to 40 like the rest of my 629's.
I also noticed all the internal parts except the hand and the hammer block, were coated black. I hope to shoot it tomorrow, and we'll go from there.

After shooting the gun with about 50 rounds, the trigger pull is now 48 ounces, and I guess I can live with that, but perhaps it will go lower with more use. 19.7g of WC 820 and a Lyman 429215gc that I use as a bbl leading remover, is quite the load to handle out of this L framed revolver. That load clocked 1265fps. I usually don't get any leading with Trail Boss, that I used for the first 50 rounds or so, but there was a MINOR AMOUNT, and I decided to remove it with my bbl cleaning load. In all, not a bad revolver, but I prefer my 629-4 Mtn Gun or my 329PD to it. YMMV.
