Cleaning Polymer Frames in Ultra Sonic Cleaner
For my metal guns, I blast the frames with non chlorinated brake cleaner. Can't use that on Polymer. I know Gun scrubber makes a Polymer safe formula but it's expensive. Could I clean the frame of my Shield in an ultra sonic cleaner? Don't have to use the solution if thats an issue. Just hot water. I'd blast it all out with compressed air to make sure all the water is out.
Just like a clean gun. But wouldn't do it if it will hurt anything.

IIRC, some of the M&P's, and I don't know about the Shields, have a cloth pledget in their trigger spring to dampen vibrations. I suggest that soaking the pledget will shorten trigger spring life.

Now there's a word you don't hear everyday. In fact, I had never heard it before. I did look it up.

Provided the pistol doesn't have a pledget then a sonic cleaner with some Simple Green works exceptionally well on polymer frames. hardcase60

I've seen the pledget referred to in print as a tampon. I think pledget has more class.

Cleaned a Glock in the dishwasher once.
Came out clean as a whistle with no damage.
