Default Chamber hone in .32 SWL

I'm "bringing back to life" a Mod of 1903 .32 HE. It's cleaned up pretty well, but the chambers were slightly corroded from years of neglect. (Outside was lots of surface rust). I soaked in Kroil, and brushed out well, but when shooting the empties stick pretty good in the chambers. I have used a 38 bore brush, wrapped with Chore Boy copper and a good quantity of Mothers Mag Polish. If this doesn't work, I'll need to use a hone. But, looking at Brownells and Midway both there are no .32 hones available. The book shows the 32 case should be .337 OD and the 9mm case .391. That's .054 difference. Do you think the flex hones for the 9mm would fit good enough to smooth out the .32 SWL chambers, or are they too big?

Any alternative suggestions?

Well, hones won't be needed. The scrubbing with the 38 brush wrapped with Chore Boy and Mothers Mag Polish did the job. I put 50 rounds through it and only thumb pressure needed to eject all rounds.

Bravo. Always nice to solve the problem with ingenuity instead of buying new tools.

One caution though, a brush or none straight tool can cause wallows in the chamber walls; lengthwise or circular. I prefer a wood dowel mandrel with a slit, wrapped in sandpaper to keep chamber walls straight like the hone.

Either way the polishing process must be moved in and out constantly if spinning it, to keep chamber walls straight.

Thanks Jim, I'm well aware you never let brush/bit/hone/etc. sit in one spot for any time at all, keep constantly moving over the length of the chamber.
