Default Best coating system for M&P 2.0

S&W will not make the 5" 2.0 in anything but FDE. What is the best coating system to change the color to black.

Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

I bet if you wait a little while they'll start making them in black. Otherwise, I'd recommend Cerakote.

I'm patiently waiting for the 5" without the thumb safety.

I'm pretty sure the reason they're all FDE with the thumb safety is because it was their entry into the military's search for a new handgun.

It's not a coating; it's salt bath ferritic nitrocarburizing which is is a thermochemical surface hardening process that involves diffusion of both nitrogen and carbon into the part.

If you thought it was "thin", why did you buy it?
