Default Revolver Smith recommendation in Houston area

I live just east of Houston. Have a couple Smiths I'd like to have some work done on. Anyone have first person, positive experience with a good revolver smith in the area. Recommendations please.

If there are none in Houston, perhaps someone can recommend someone elsewhere in the state. Good excuse for a road trip!

Thanks

Not in Houston, and not personal experience, but two gunsmith outfits that get national acclaim and might be a decent road trip are LSG, Mfg and Ten Ring Precision.

Ten Ring Precision | Custom Guns Based in San Antonio

LSG, Mfg|Gun Parts|Warranty|Gunsmithing

LSG was up until last year a S&W warranty repair station; they know S&Ws backwards and forwards.

All mine down there are either retired or deceased. Sorry not much help but there may be a light off in the darkness. I do have an FFL in Houston, on Monday I can reach out to him. hardcase60

The fella's name is Alan Harton, & I believe his business name in Houston, is Single Action Service:

Alan Harton
713-772-8314

Renowned for his custom SAA's, & such, but has been known to work on DA's, as well.

Don't think he's got a web site, but here's a review:

Frank at LSG, has done a lot of work for me in the past. He does know his business.

Word to the wise though - DON'T get him started on liberal politicians...

A number of years ago, Alan built a nice M28 to .44 Special conversion for me.

I have a number of Harton built single action Ruger's as well as a 5" M29-2 44 Mag and a 4" 38 WCF M28 Highway Patrolman. If you can get him to take on the work you will find no better. That said, he is busy and slowing down a bit given my last visit to his shop.
