Default Apex install gone wrong! Thumb safety no longer operational

Hey guys, new member here to the forum. So, i have an issue with an apex trigger install and duty enhancement kit. My full size M&P9 has a manual ambidextrous thumb safety on it, and as of completion of the parts, I noticed a issue.

The firearm releases the striker with the safety engaged. Allow me to add that I did not install the striker block as i was unable to remove the rear sight. I was forced to skip this step due to the sight being stuck. I installed the the plunger spring, the sear, the trigger reset spring and the trigger itself. The trigger is smooth and VERY light, almost too light for comfort. I could sneeze and it would go off.

When tapping in the roll pins for the rear sear housing, it looks like i may have bent the safety lever, i requested a replacement from Smith & Wesson this morning hoping this relieves the issue, but my certainty is not 100%.

Would reinstalling the factory sear and plunger spring reverse this? Will i still get the benefits of the Apex trigger if i swap these parts? Or, am i going to get the same sloppy trigger pull as stock with a $164 aesthetic appealing only trigger?

Some help would be appreciated, looking forward to replies.

Welcome to the forum.
I don't have the answers to your questions but suggest that you get on the phone with the helpful folks from Apex for help, that will likely solve all your issues if you tell them exactly what you did in your process. Meanwhile it sounds like you have an unsafe firearm so please be smart about that until your issues are resolved.

Is your pistol the 2.0 model?
