Default K Frame Hammer. Nose

The hammer nose just broke on my 19. Brownells has a replacement one from Power Custom, do any of you have any experience with this item - are they good to go?

Power Custom parts are of high quality. They also make oversized hands and cylinder stops for S&W revolvers.

Their parts are good. Get yourself a few Rivets also while you're at it.

DD357 be aware that this is an Extended Hammer Nose and if you dig into the directions provided by Power Custom you'll find a note that it "may" require a bit of fitting. I used this kit to replace the factory original hammer nose on my 19-3 that was so short the revolver wouldn't fire one single CCI 550 Magnum primer in double action even after using a primer cup on the strain screw to increase the DA trigger weight to over 12.5 lbs.

After replacing the hammer nose I removed that shim on the strain screw which restored the DA trigger weight to 9.0 lbs, just where I like my DA revolver triggers weighted. First time out the dimples in the primers had the deepest dimples I have ever seen in a primer. Over the next two range sessions I did a bit of re-shaping the tip with a diamond file to get a somewhat normal looking dimple that is just a touch deeper than typical. Point is you will want to take a close look at your fired cases and determine if you need to do a bit of fitting.
