Creating original finish
Having a senior moment right now. What's the color of the pad to mimic the factory finish on stainless revolvers? Grey?

That's what I use. I have experimented with the Grey and toned it down with the White. I bought my pads at a local Woodcraft store.

Another possibility.
I have had good luck using a .003" stainless carding brush mounted in my drill press.
