If you are describing a small amount (2-3 mm) of fore and aft play, that is normal. If you are talking about it moving the entire DA pull length, the answer is no.

Yes just a small forward/rearward play, pistol functions fine...I see there is a trigger play spring on the trigger bar...is that supposed to take up the play ??

No, I have handled similar model guns and they all have this slight amount of trigger play at full cock; I think most call it "take up".

I understand "take up", but take up should be under some spring pressure, my trigger has a small amount of play that just flops back and forth, I can shake the pistol back and forth and the trigger will move...

There have been two different trigger play springs used over the years. The one with the two tabs is the older version......next to the redesign which uses a closed top on the tensioner to help prevent breakage.
A broken or bent trigger play spring could be the issue that is causing the "slop" in the trigger. Does your TPS appear to be intact?
