Hello all. Would like some feedback: I just purchased a new M&P Shield, before going to the range to give it a walk, noticed that the barrel (lands and grooves) had some carbon (I guess) residue hugging the meeting place of the lands and grooves that was pretty stubborn to get out. I have the barrel soaking now in some Hoppes 9, and will brush it in the morning. Has anyone else found such an issue in new Shields???

It's not an "issue"; it's what happens with any gun that gets fired. Only way to "solve" the "problem" -- don't shoot it.

I have had 45 caliber brass brushes that are pretty loose in the barrel so I use a 50 cal cleaning brush and it works better for me in my 45 Shield and 625 Revolver 45acp.
