I tried to swap the hammers between my 60 no-dash and my 60-7 and the 60 hammer would not work in the 60-7. It would install but when I tried to drop the hammer it wouldn't completely fall.

I didn't see an obvious difference between the two hammers and I can't find an online parts source that makes a distinction between the two. Should it work? Does it just need a little 'smithing to make it work?

Hammers are not always drop in replacements. They often need a little fitting to work right.

If you don't feel comfortable fitting it with a Stone or File, you could first try swapping out all the Hammer's components that are contained within the Hammer. That might do it.
