Does anyone have any experience with MinWax wood Hardener for stabilizing small areas on grips before re-finishing?

From my experience with it ,it does not penetrate very deep. Sometimes i have used C.A.glue to harden wood .If you use C.A. wear nitril gloves .

I have used super glue on soft wood when finishing knife scales. Put a drop on the wood and spread it with a finger in a plastic bag. Do this in a well ventilated area.
