Default S&W Model 38

I have a chance to buy a S&W Model38 Airweight from the 1980's . The frame is cracked under the forcing cone from +p ammo. he wants $120 for it.
Is it worth it, Is it repairable ??

The frame is toast. If the frame is cracked, the bottom of the forcing cone probably is too. If so, the barrel is toast.

The remaining parts may be worth that much to you, or not.

To my way of thinking, and remember my advise is free, it is not worth anything w/a crack under the forcing cone. Move on . . .

Unless you have some specific use for the parts or an outlet to sell them, I don't see it worth getting involved in it.

Not repairable. Have him return it to S&W and they will replace it with a new J frame current production of his choosing.
