Default Need a Recommendation for a Colorado Gunsmith

Does anyone have experience with a gunsmith in the Denver / Longmont / Ft Collins, CO area? I have a friend who needs some repair work on a 1965 Model 15-2 revolver. Thanks for any help!

I've had minor stuff done at TJ's Gunsmithing in Aurora. I've got a revolver where the cylinder is binding and I'm considering taking it there. Some people aren't happy with their wait time, though.

I know nothing about TJ's and can't speak to the quality of their work.

However, lengthy wait times are generally the norm with first rate gunsmiths.

My gunsmith isn't taking new customers and will only do work for me after much begging and added incentives ( think high end adult beverages).

Frank Glenn rarely has a wait time for ordinary revolver work. Almost every instance of someone using him lately, the work has been done immediately and returned with a week or two. I consider him the best revolver smith left in the country too.

Be very careful with current revolver smiths, as there aren't too many real masters out there nowadays.

Thanks for the lead. Is Frank Glenn at TJ's? Or what is his contact information?

Frank Glenn is in Arizona. I've had TJ's work on a few pre 1984 S&Ws, the oldest was a 1978 28. First rate work on all of them and on a couple the wait time was much shorter than what I was quoted but on others it was the full 4-6 weeks. Depends on the time of year.

There is a gunsmith in Parker that should be avoided at all costs named John Kelly. He claims to be, but is the furthest thing from, a pistolsmith.

Stu
unfortunately, experienced.
