Default Cleaning Up Grips

I picked up my .22/32 Heavy Frame Target from Cabelas today and am more than pleased. The metal is in nice shape, screws look untouched but the grips, while in very good shape, could use a cleaning. Just "hand dirt" and such to remove. I just want to them clean including the checkering. What method should I use to do this and not alter the original finish?
