I had posted this before when the piece would only fire single action I replaced the tension spring which was broken but after rebuilding the piece I still have an issue The piece has a double action issue and seems like something I am over looking
If you fire it single action it works fine however when you pull the trigger to double action it , it wont rotate the cylinder HOWEVER if you give the trigger a slight push forward IT rotates fine just each time you need to push the trigger forward ever so slightly

For whatever reason, it sure appears you're not getting complete trigger return. Weak rebound spring? Has the rebound spring been cut? Whatever the cause, I suggest replacing the existing rebound spring with the next pound rating, i.e., a 14# if you currently have a 13# in place. See if that cures your double action trouble. If not, try a 15# rebound spring.

That's the only thing I can think would be causing your trouble, based on your description. I hope this was helpful.

To me (sight unseen) it sounds like someone CUT the Rebound Spring. Inspect & replace and see what happens. If memory serves, the Factory Spring has 17 coils (stock).

Also check and see if the side plate is clamping down on the trigger a tiny bit slowing it's movement. Just unscrew the forward sideplate screw a 1/4 turn or so and try it DA. See if that makes the problem go away with the existing springs in place.

If the plate is in fact rubbing against the trigger when fully screwed down,,then the trigger contact area on the inside of the plate can be carefully taken down till the trigger moves freely when the plate is secured.
Before you do that,,,,
Clean the contact areas both in the frame and on the plate and also the trigger itself and try it before doing any fitting work.
Also check for a loose or bent trigger pivot pin and a worn pin seat hole on the back side of plate that would allow a loose pin to move sideways and jam the trigger a bit under spring pressure. It doesn't take much on a close fitted mechanism.

Well I got It FIGURED OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after taking it apart 4 times and replacing everything It still failed in the double action format. As I have learned over the years SOMETIMES the best thing to do is just put it in a box and forget about it and look at it later With fresh eyes ( which I did )
Well when I looked at it yesterday I saw something I had over looked several times The small pin on the frame that the trigger rebound slide sat against had a slight bend to the left maybe 8 degrees A few gentle taps and it was straight again I put the rebound slide and spring in AND IT WORKS Perfectly !!!!!!!!!!!! Hurray for me and everyone else who pointed out to me it might be the rebound spring !!!!!!!!!!!!

That moment of EUREKA is priceless. The exact point in time when the problem and solution appear to you is awesome. I recently had a similar experience while attempting to diagnosis a single action cocking problem with a J frame. Thanks for sharing the story. hardcase60
