sight removal punch?
Hey guys. Watching the apex tactical duty carry trigger assembly video for the shield, i notice the person uses a punch that looks like the "talon tactical tool" to punch out the sights. Is this a one off tool or is there a place i can find it?

I am unfamiliar with a "Talon Tactical Tool" however if you are looking for a Nylon tipped punch to safely push a sight with, then you might want to look at Brownell's website. Their Nylon tipped punches offer a steel main body (tip threads on), and a replaceable Nylon tip with a steel insert for rigidity. I use them to drift sights all the time and they work very well.

It was a punch in the shape of the dove tail.

Brownells sells the Talon Tool. The idea of the flat and dovetail fit is that the tool will slide over the spring and plunger during removal that you don't want to go flying once exposed!
You may want at some point to consider purchasing a sight pusher as you may end up needing to drift your front sight to get it dialed in at some point. A pusher eliminates the possibility of hammering an accidental miss and marring up your nice gun

Dawson Precision furnishes an aluminum punch with their sights that is shaped to fit the dovetail.
I used one to change the front sight on my Shield for a DP FO. The factory Shield sight was TIGHT. Make sure you have a suitable vise and lots of patience. I fitted the Dawson sight to the gun per factory instructions, and installing their sight was easy after the major hassle of getting the factory sight out.

Use Kroil before you start to drift the sight, it will make it much easier.

Sight Removal Tool
I hope you can move the sight with a Talon, but my Bodyguard needed a pusher. Very tight.

lol. the talon tactical tool is a tool which helps keep the safety block washer and spring compressed while you install the rear sight. Talon tactical is the company i believe.
