REVOLVER SCHEMATIC FOR PARTS ID WHEN ASKING FOR ASSISTANCE HERE ON THE FORUM
I have this vintage S&W Revolver "exploded view" framed in my Shop and since some here don't know the "official name" of certain parts they try to describe, I took a picture (yea I know I'm a lousy picture taker - sorry) of my vintage poster in hopes you can enlarge it and use it when posting here. Hope it helps.......
PS: Click on it and it should enlarge.

Thanks. I bought this manual a while back and that has helped me as well.
The revolver did not come with it.

GREAT IDEA !
For disassembly / reassembly the old(er) S&W-Revolvers this may be helpful
(HINT: You need the correct srewdrivers... & Don't disassemble more than
necessary, especially let this "trigger/hand/ handspring-thing" together ):
1. American Rifleman | Smith and Wesson Model 29
2. the pictures to 1. (Click on the white arrows in the Gallery)
American Rifleman | Smith & Wesson Model 29 Exploded View
For the newer S&W-Revolvers -Thanks to 500 Magnum Nut !- here should be
something in: FAQ
P.44

If you go on the Numrich website, they have schematics to identify parts. They don't always have the parts, but each piece is numbered, and identified.

This was really just meant for quick reference for guys posting questions, problems and specifics about their Revolvers here on the Forum.
I agree that for specific part numbers for s pecific models Numrich has better, more modern and up to date schematics - but for quick reference in general terms this should be helpful.

The names of the parts are there. Isn't that what your post asks about???? See

Same idea I had many years ago. The posters of S&W are handy. This one is a 686 on my wall.

I took your shot and made it my computer desk top photo; referring to it already.

ONE of the reasons I keep it so clean is because I often venture down into my workshop barefoot. I hate wearing shoes in the house and in the summer I rarely wear socks. Any metal filings or wood splinters could wind up in my feet - so I make sure its clean. When ever I am working on something and using tools or reloading I will always wear shoes of course ( I'm not nuts ) but many times I will just do delicate electronics work or planning on paper sitting at the bench.

** Are you telling us you just use your "feets" to post up that revolver poster ??
However you got it posted I appreciate it.
Even when you know all the parts by name, sometimes when posting here the proper names escape me.
