Default part number for 929 barrel

Does anyone have the S&W part number for a 929 barrel? I have found it much easier to get parts from the factory when you can provide them with a part number.
Thanks in advance

I do not think S&W will sell the barrel over the counter regardless if you have a part number or not. I could be wrong but I think revolver barrels are a no-no.

I have purchased several barrels from their Customer Service Department in the last few years, all I needed was a part number.

The factory used to publish/post parts lists with numbers, but stopped doing so several years ago. Since there is only one 929 barrel length and style, it may be best to call factory CS to ask them the number...and order it at the same time .

I'm going out on a limb here, but it seems pretty bizarre the factory can't provide part numbers for their own product.

Smith & Wesson is trying to limit support thru parts sales to lay people. They want their guns serviced by the factory. They have been slowly moving in this direction for a number of years,

This corporate policy also takes hundreds of thousands of older guns still in service out of commission by limiting service or ending parts production (and therefore support) entirely. I understand Smith & Wesson is in the business of selling new guns but the change in corporate philosophy is quite disheartening. The current S&W isn't the Company I grew up with and the change isn't for the better.

Glad you can get the barrel over the counter.

Bruce

I agree. It hasn't been that many years ago (at least it doesn't seem like it) that Brownell's carried a very complete line of S&W parts. I don't know if they stopped due to lack of sales or because S&W quit supplying them, but I suspect the latter.
